Greetings

Post by Jaspwieser »

Have just put a deposit down on a y reg xantia 2 ltr diesel estate.
Collect it during the week.
It's got 133k on the clock with limited service history.
Drives well, nice bodywork and interior
Are there any common faults that a green Citroën owner should be aware of

Welcome to the FCF Richard.

Have you had a green blooded Citroen before?

If not, you will probably want to take a look at the suspension - not much point in having a large Citroen if its not riding as it should!

Your in for a treat in that case

Most Xantias i see around are bouncing around on their tyres alone, so if yours is riding harsh, spheres will be a good place to start.

Welcome Richard :D

It's a drive you'll enjoy too. They say that if you drive a hydraulic Citroen for more than 30 minutes then you'll never drive anything else :D They get under your skin.

I'm sure you've had a good look around the forum now and don't be put off by the number of posts speaking of Xantia issues. Most jobs are straightforward on them and well in the realm of competent DIY. They're complex but not at all difficult.

Let us know your impressions of the car...
