Hi from Zumerzet

A forum for new members to introduce themselves to the rabble already onboard. Not compulsory!
Tell us a little about yourself, lie if you have to but keep it to just an introduction, not a car discussion.

Hi from Zumerzet

Post by Jefro »

Hello everybody. I've just found this forum, how google never popped it up before or maybe I just missed it, I don't know as I have been on the Renault forums for years. However, I have just purchased for scrap money a very tidy with full service stamped history, a 2005 C5 Exclusive estate 2.2HDI with a blown turbo. I have to say I like a challenge but I am hopeful that I can resurrect this one as it started, just, but without a bottom end knock. However, most of the engine oil was in the intake pipes. Apparently the car was doing about 70+ when the revs increased, smoke out the back and recovery.

As I am retired it's a project to keep me out of trouble and trouble and strife's way and as with my Renault I need a good forum to help me along and by what I have read so far, first impression's are good. :-D

Regards to all... Jefro

A warm welcome to you and the retirement project. It will be a good thing to resurrect, and you're in the certainly in the right place for info and help.

Hi Jefro

Welcome to the forum. I am not to far away in rural Dorset. Have run Citroen's and Peugeot's for over 30 years. I had a C5 as the natural successor to the string of XM's and CX's I had. I think you will find everything you need to know on here.

Hi Peter. N.

Like you I have had a couple of Citroens, the first was a little air cooled GSA which took me over Europe in the 70's. Then a CX 2.5 GTI auto and an XM 3.0l manual which was more of a beast than the GTI.

Thanks for the welcome... Jeff

Mine were all diesels, I used them for work and did a lot of miles in them, about 160k in my last CX, I reckon that the difference in fuel consumption compared with petrol paid for the car.
