Wow, a S1 Activa on a T plate, that very late and quite a bit later than mine.

Looks like it needs some work, I bet that might get broken for bits or for its engine to be used in a Peugeot.

Not as close butthis would be a good one to save and somewhat satisfying as it was intended for a project

I tried:

Dear emilyemily23,
Hi, just wondered what price would buy this car complete as these are ALL
being scrapped to donate their engines to other PSA models and they're
massively underrated yet superb to drive? What mileage have the
mechanicals covered? Is the interior in good order - is it cloth or leather.
Does the car have a sunroof or aircon? Are the alloys/tyres any good to
run on/pass MOT? Andy
- andmcit

Dear andmcit,
hi there i was going to break it, all that is missing is the catyltic converter
it has been sitting for a year and a half i was thinking of doing a saxo convertion
if i was to sell it as it is id want about 450 500 i'll get 300 400 for the engine and running gear
+ scrap weight. other than the catyltic converter it would be cheap to get back on the road
- emilyemily23

I can't rescue them all although heaven knows I've tried. :(

Don't suppose anyone has a TCT Activa top rad > head hose and a set of
s1 Activa cloth seats that are already off a scrapped car rather than trigger
the demise of another one?

Whilst I'm getting VERY jaded about Activae being randomly scrapped by
mercenaries I understand the dilemma when second hand parts are
required. A difficult call and when it comes down to it, 95% of me would
rather do without the second hand spares as I certainly don't want to
financially reward the aforementioned hatchet mob.

Seems there'll be a few red Activae parts floating about on ebay shortly too.

That'd be great Dommo - let me know what sort of price you have in mind;
I thought you said all the hoses were cut so were unserviceable?

I'd love the engine too but circumstances are extremely difficult at the
moment and I'm concerned about all the oil having being drained from it.
TBH, I'm currently totally sick to death of cars and anything to do with
them so finding it difficult to get that enthusiastic to talk about them.

I see what you're saying about the oil, but if you think about it even if the sump was full it's not being pumped around the engine when it's sat there so it's just as bad leaving the car sat there with oil in..

The top hose I left intact, it's that awkward connection type.

I don't really want much for the engine just want it going and going to someone that'll use it. Pm me if you want to

Having the oil drained for the relatively short period it has been will have no ill effects. All the important areas will retain a film of oil on them for a very long time...

What put everyone off http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... TQ:GB:1123??

Was it the Cat C? Or was it not worth the 200 quid?

Anyway who lives around there and is willing to give me a hand or two to get it ready for the drive home?
why?

i once bought a 1.6 TU engine that had been sat for 7 years dry, was a fantastic engine, no issues whatsoever. and as has been said its no different to a car sitting there not being used

Bit of that plus the concern of zilch rust protection permanently on the
underside, potentially crusty hydraulics including the Activa ram and of
course the fact it doesn't have a sunroof. Saw your query re: Ireland too
so could see you were the bidder and didn't want to bid against you though
I did cringe at the 59 bids you made to psych out any late comers.

Glad it's not bring puggerised but will be sad to see it as a stripped out
track car.

Could've waited; sometime soon I'm probably going to offload all of mine
- I've really had enough. Maybe feel different after a holiday.

i'm not track daying this one. a track day one will need to be too damaged/screwed to be on the road, besides i'm too broke for a track day car, i was just afraid that it was going to be broken for parts.
so ... i'm going to fix it up, get it back on the road, and enjoy it a while before i give it to a friend who is looking for one.

doh!! i hope you don't give up, we're the last few true believers!!
but if you do, i'd love that one with cruise control that you have!!!
why?

WHAT! Surely your not throwing the towel in on the Activas? Or is it a mass offload your planning of all things Citroen? I hope you will keep at least one Activa to use and enjoy?

I would also be after your cruise control equipped Activa, just about the perfect spec Activa for me that: AC, Cloth seats, Sunroof, Heated Seats, Headlamp washers and Cruise control - well, its perfect!

Apart from the obvious it looks very nice, quite an unusual colour and spec with low miles. Congratulations on your purchase :)

...if it is, I know of a good home for those CXs of Andrew's! :D

Seriously though Andrew - have a good holiday and you'll hopefully then get back into the swing of things.
Holiday's really do a world of good IMO just to get away from everything...

TBH, I think that's all it was realistically worth (maybe a tad more) with it being a Cat C and with the damage on it.
Activa prices are very low at the moment and if it was in nice condition I don't think it would have made much.
