Re: Parts Shopping
The problem is I would expect the 'copy' parts to look identical in order to fit, but the materials and build quality are not always visible. Still it's a way of keeping our older cars on the road at an affordable price.

Re: Parts Shopping
Schoolboy error...cost me an extra few quid today on my brand new brake caliper. Forgot to fully nail down the price with the motor factor, with the closer......"That includes VAT?" anticipating and implying the required answer "yes".
Still considerably cheaper than ECP and no faf about with the "exchange" surcharge/refund pallaver so I shrug my shoulders and learn from experience!
Regards Neil

Blimey - a few puffs of wind and it looks like half the caliper will blow away!

If you blow up the pictures and examine them carefully you will often find that the identical part is being advertised for a range of different prices.GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑13 Nov 2018, 12:10 The problem is I would expect the 'copy' parts to look identical in order to fit, but the materials and build quality are not always visible. Reluctantly, I've given your wholly innaccurate description a "like". Believe me you wouldn't want to drop it on your toe, one quality it does have is that its heavy!
Just looking forward to Chris' contribution now that you and Marc have had your fun

In that case I might have made a mistake. Is it in fact made out of lead and spray painted a pretty silver ? Can you mould it into the shape of a different caliper with your bare hands ?
