"My" Caravelle went for £5,400 hammer price. I would have been happy at that sort of price had I been a bit more organised.

When the two CX Familiales went through I thought that the first one was a very fine bargain. I couldn't understand why the second one was worth more though!

Sadly I didn't get what I went for though.

"Woolly Hat" was behind me and I didn't see him. If it had been me I would have taken the hat off after the first time I'd been called that!

I went there for the Chevette HS. In my mind I was hoping to get it for about £7k - £8k (impossible hope was £2k less than that!) but we very quickly went up to £10k.

Just me in the hall bidding against the internet. The auctioneer offered me £500 increments and I went to £10.5k but the internet came back with £11k almost immediately. I had to catch myself at that point and not get caught up with bidding fever and, despite entreatments, wouldn't bid £11.5k.

You probably saw me crying onto my wife's shoulder at that point.

I quite enjoyed that auction livestream, the principle more than the actual auction, which seems somewhat hurried with missed opportunities. The final auctioneer sounded more like a horse-race commentor and kept forgetting where the bidding had got to.

Was a bit late so missed the toys, pedal cars, remote aircraft and boats.

What I found interesting was the various final bids. I couldn't make head nor tail of where there value (or lack of) came into it.
The lovely austin campervans seemed to go for a song while a rather bland MKI transit brought in way more.
Who'd have thought vauxhalls become highly sought-after classics as well as allegro's and princesses!? Not me but what do I know?

Weeeell, while doing some research online before hand there was a race prepared HSR up sale on Ebay a while back for about £10k which I thought was a very low price. It was probably a replica though.

Only 50 HSRs produced so goodness knows, I would imagine all immediately went into competition use.

I also came across a restored HS up for auction earlier last month. Guide price was around the £20k mark but it wasn't clear whether it sold or not.
