Monorail tram!

Came across this in Caen, en route to the ferry to Portsmouth.
Tram - on rubber tyres - overhead power - and a single central guide rail.
Preculiarly French? - and not dissimilar to the Paris Metro, where I remember trains arriving with little more than a rubbery swish.

What an excellent idea :) A perfect solution for Milton Keynes and an end to horrid, noisy and smelly old diesel buses...

Bring it on ;) The sooner the better!

Never seen one of those, its a good idea from the noise point of view but not so for power efficiency. Looks smart though.

Seems not dissimilar to the inter-gate shuttle train that runs at Paris airport. On it for the first time last week, single thing that staggered me the most - the almost Tesla-like rate at which the thing took off from the platform...

Electric acceleration can be frankly quite staggering...

Those new Class 350 EMUs that run between Milton Keynes and Euston have a pretty impressive turn of acceleration when they take off from a station... And they brake pretty impressively too...

I was amazed the first time I rode one...
