Raspberry Pi advice

Post by KP »

I know its not frog car related but thought as a few on here know their way around code and machines in respect to Linux and such that I'd give it a shot :)

Looking at possibly using a Raspberry Pi for a work station that's fixed into a unit for a user.
Ideally they don't want a desktop and would prefer a thin client but i want to KISS as much as possible and thought of a Pi. The unit will simply provide the user with an RDP shortcut on the desktop/screen which when they click on it will kick them through to a windows RDP Cluster :)

I've never touched one but was wondering now that cases and such can be bought for them is there a way that they could run dual screens without too much delving into Linux?
I believe they most commonly use something called Linux X but I last touched Linux about 6 years ago as part of a custom rom for VDSL devices and that was purely to lock in the credentials following a set script for each customer :)

Any help would be appreciated and i dont mind if the output is HDMI + VGA as there is always adapters.

A Pi is basically just a little Linux box Will so basically if you can do it on a relatively lightweight Linux platform you should be able to do it on a Pi...

That's what I'm hoping Jim as it will be justvused for RDP but needs to support the rdp across both screens to be feasible :)
