Re: Picture(s) of the day..
Worthy of many threads definitely a nice pair, nice two tone, interesting camper van, still a classic for under £10,000 , a classic car spot, and definitely a POTD
If only the devils bridge, or halfway house AA box could have been in the background that would have been perfection.
Regards Neil

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
It's somewhat unnerving how close to £10K a really tidy example like that green one would probably fetch these days though.
Real oddity though is that it's a 210...so 2.5 petrol, and an automatic! Shudder to think what that must do on fuel...15mpg on a good day? Think I'll stick to my 2.3 diesel thanks very much...
So we've got both of the non-standard Autotrail colours in one shot...just need the same with the "normal" cream and maroon one as well now.

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
We went to a place on the Costa Brava long before the tourist trade really got going, a new hotel run by a Scot and his wife, it was pretty close to the French border and was the only hotel in what was then still a fishing village, L'Escala.
There was a very interesting archaeological museum within walking distance of the hotel
Loved it but haven't been back to the Spanish mainland since although several times to the Canary Islands.

We have been here (Sayalonga) for 15 years now, but now intend to move to France. Our villa here, about 3km from the village, will be up for sale near the end of the year - so any interested PMs welcome.

To be within one day's drive of family in the south of the UK. Looking at Poitou-Charente at the moment.
First thoughts were Lot-Garonne, but distance is a good bit further south. Property prices are around half those in Andalucia, and you get a whole lot more space for your money - in some cases huge barns, some with a serviceable roof!

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
as a bit of a follow up on my ongoing saga thread...60yrs to the day this Thursday of the start up of this...
we frosted the glass partitions and wall papered a timeline from there to an auditorium full of display engines ready for the event on Thursday.
Mike Costin will be there along with a few names from the past, Sir Jackie was mentioned, 'our Nige' won't be there because they wont give him an engine

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
Haven't thought about Jackie for ages then came across him the other day randomly via the classiccarcatalogue for 1968 and the info on Matra.
Here he is at the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort in The Matra-Ford MS10

Re: Picture(s) of the day..
Geograph's image of the day has turned up today with one of Thomas Telford's many bridges.
One which we have driven over hundreds of times, but never bothered to stop, get out, and view it from a different angle.
Quite an impressive stone road viaduct with what I will call the A68 going over the top of it.

Worth a bit of a detour onto wiki to read a bit more about Telford, certainly liked to keep himself busy!
Regards Neil

My GP or one of his co-workers has parked up the Lexus and is using this for commuting.

None of them do it for me Neil I went from push bike to car, never had any interest in motor bikes.
