Here's another you might want to disapprove of :)

It's been converted to a refreshments wagon

Which I suspect has had the engine removed as it's been turned into a trailer

The same fate befell this airstream.

Looks like a fun event Mike, and Ray Dorset looks like he still has his sideburns, although has to be a Grecian 2000 user at his age now :-D

No disapproval of the Amazon intended Mike interesting different, but do prefer the plain! :-D

I can see the business atttraction for having the H Van as a Trailer...takes away all of the maintenance/running costs/reliability problems, and probably cheaper than getting a conversion to a more modern motor like this one did...long wheel base Van, with most of the panels from the cab backwards being fibreglass replicas.

No excuse for lilly white legs wearing a pair of shorts riding this in such close proximity to the exhaust pylons (?) :rofl2: As you can tell my motorcycle knowledge is pretty much non-existent! :-D

Apologies for the reflective stripes - it was taken through the shop window, so picked up my rather psychedelic yellow striped shirt.

Definitely needs a "I Brake for No One" sticker on the back.

I asked a mate about the bike as he collects things like that. his response:

"Neracar. Or, more properly, Ner-A-Car.

Basically made from 1921 to 1927 by an American outfit but also assembled here in the UK at Kingston by Sheffield-Simplex.

Various models: Neracar (Syracuse, United States) made three models of Neracar; 221cc (later 255cc) two-stroke engine, one headlight, and one taillight. The Type B had a larger engine, two seats, and two headlights. A commercial version, the Type CB, had a pair of headlights, a pair of drum brakes on the rear wheel, and a steel utility box!

Ner-A-Car (United Kingdom) began production of Ner-A-Cars in 1921 with the original American design with the 221 cc two-stroke engine but in 1923 the engine was enlarged to 285cc

Sheffield-Simplex developed a new version with a Blackburne 348cc four-stroke side-valve engine

The one to have, apparently (!), is the 1926 de-luxe model - with swingarm rear suspension, a bucket seat with air cushions, and a fairing with an adjustable Triplex windshield and an instrument panel. The blurb says: 'A countershaft concentric with the swingarm pivot was driven by a chain from the transmission and drove the rear wheel.'

Production of the Ner-A-Car at Sheffield-Simplex ended in the autumn of 1926.
Carl Neracherh, the guy who designed the Ner-A-Car was (American) Carl Neracher."

...And when I told him it was for sale, his response:

"Avoid it. Trust me"

Excellent, just the type of colour scheme I like. We have one up here "Goldie"' run by two enterprising and very hard working young ladies

Lovely. Amazing what can be done with 'flat,' and 'nearly flat', panels (and glass)!

not yet seen one of those in the flesh here in blighty, but also seen it in Ice-Cream van guise abroad.

I wonder if there's a 'sliding scale' of Pizza charges according to how the ladies rate one's scream. ...talking of which, anyone else prefer Deep Pan Pizza? Most seem to be thin these days. Thankfully Asda do my favourite Deep Pan Hawaiian

The BX is gorgeous - especially the later cars with the smoky rear lenses and black tailgate panel.
We put both of those (lights and the matt black) on our '89 RD, but shifted the brake lights into the original lower-outer slots, keeping the double-height inners for rear fogs.
The more sporty versions gave a decidedly firm (but level) ride. The milder versions wafted beautifully. My first venture into re-gassed spheres.
Hugely missed by us both.

Here's the other two shots Chris, didnt have a chance for a chat with the owners they were exiting the car park just as we came back. I would guess they have had it some time and come from East Yorks/Lincs , and not in the first flush of youth, but that's just the detective in me!

very nice indeed, the colour and the (aftermarket?) wheeltrims suit it.

Moggy's colour scheme reminds me of the GPO practice of fitting rubber wings, good idea!

The AA with their 19 boxes, 70 odd Village Signs, and Impracticable for motors signs get plenty airing on the FCF.

But what about their traditional rivals. Well here's a couple of their old signs still in situ

No attempt at concealment or deviousness but anyone know of the top of their head where these signs are?

Worth a virtual can of Top Deck Limeade and Lager at a push :-D
