That Commer TS3 was a fabulous truck, you could hear it coming from a fair distance away from its turbo scream and its horizontally opposed piston engine, the only British truck accepted by the US trucking industry at the time.

One of the strangest sounding engines is the Bolinder. They only fire when they need to (which can drive modern mechanics nuts as they try to find the non-existent fault), which makes it very easy to diagnose when you are running with a light load and the engine is firing a lot (it normally means you have something wrapped around the prop);

The Egyptian truckers used to have a mile high load of cotton bales, when they passed a Brit army truck they would give the steering a shake to set their load swaying and try to push the Brit off the road, that's what happened to this one.

All those guys in the water had to go to the MO and have a series of injections to protect against disease.

I can assure everyone that on far bank of the river in this picture there are 3 Otters, a Mother and 2 Cubs.

With the naked eye and through binoculars there were excelllent views as they made their way upstream, in and out of the water generally frolicing around and enjoying themselves.

So even though my amateurish photography wasn't able to pick them out on this image, the photograph itself always capture's the time and the place and for me at least will always capture that moment.

Have to big up Northern Experience Wildlife Tours and their otter mini-safari's for opening my eyes to find what has always been there.

Like that Steve, you should make a note of where it happens and let us know. I did engineer my speedo to read 123456 with the tripometer showing 789.0 some time ago..(its 190,000 ish now)

I think a couple of my significant milages have occured on the A1 at Stannington 200,000 in one of my Xantias on my way down to Pickering, and one time I ceremoniously concealed a 10p piece in a hole in a nearby tree when one of my cars clicked over to 100,000

Nice. That tripometer looks to be genuinely random, rather than my own calculated and engineered one! What are the chances of a prile of 5's coming up with your flush of deuces! So in the vicinity of the Nissan factory or the decaying Vulcan then Steve?
