Heroes of Telemark was on again today.....so here's a bit of trivia

IMCDB Identifies this as a 1932 Ford V-8 and the interesting bit...it has a wood gas generator fitted.

I saw that, wondered if anyone would comment.

Did you notice at the end there were no German soldiers in the rescue boats?

So just to weave a nice random thread around a few threads my offering for today is this...

Image

..and the seamless links.....

The current Whatsthisthen? appeared in a french film "Une Femme Francaise" whose end credits soundtrack is featured on The Pickled Egg JukeBox...composed by Patrick Doyle one of the top filmscore composers who comes from Uddingston in South Lanarkshire, which brings us round to Tunnocks!

Didn't know they did a dark chocolate one!

Now if any FCF member had been to Glasgow Airport in the last year they could well have spotted this classic and posted it up on the Classics spotting thread...

Well I was heading back home when I saw this 1928 Hotchkiss out in the wild again. The owner is working on a 1925 Hotchkiss as well (but it is currently in the surgery).

I always thought a Hotchkiss was a kind of military gun... Never knew they made cars... It has a very attractive front-end...

The main body is covered with a leather fabric. It has been lovingly maintained (but it bears all of its' scars with pride). The owner will not take either back to factory condition, as he says they have earned their patina (and I heartily agree with him).

Me too!

I did wonder what the body was covered with and never thought it would be leather. It's certainly stood the test of time well if it's still 100% original...

He told me that it has been on the road nearly all of its' life (only being stored between 43 and 45). He has to charge the battery regularly, as the dynamo is not working.
