There's quite a movement now to new-build classes of locomotives that failed, for one reason or another, to have any examples in preservation...

That one of yours might be one of the candidates...

And the Teams represented in the B17 class were
Tottenham Hotspur, Norwich City, Arsenal, Sheffield United, Grimsby Town, Derby County, Darlington, Huddersfield Town, Sunderland, Middlesborough, Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, Manchester United, Everton, Liverpool, Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, Bradford, Bradford City, Barnsley, Manchester City, West Ham United.
Two according to Wiki are to be the subject of new Build

61662 (2862) Manchester United, and a completely new "Spirit of Sandringham" with number 61673 (2873)

Much of the other naming of the class is around Norfolk Placemames so could well have been put in the "What do you know about Norfolk" Thread :-D

another minor interesting fact some of the class were converted to streamliners

https://transportsofdelight.smugmug.com ... -JzKSn6c/A

Well thats all for class B17 for now

I've given it my best shot - what do you think ? It's a study of the recent snow we've been having. I think I've caught the interplay between light and shade quite well, and - even if I say so myself - there's quite a bit of depth to it

Neil, I thought that "Black Cat" image was watching grass grow in the Sahara Desert, at night, during a sandstorm and a full lunar eclipse.

I've found another painting of the black cat - this must have been for a second session. It's entitled :
"Black cat in a coal cellar looking away from the artist."
Black cat - artists own work.

Well its an interactive art installation. All the lights in the gallery have to be turned off and you shine a torch at the artwork and the cat will reveal its prescence and orientation with a flash of its reflective eyes!

Anyone want a reminisce about Meccano?

Very probably a Christmas Day present for a few forum members in their youth.

Whatsthisthen? cropped up with a Differential Engine constructed in part with meccano, and referenced an article in Meccano Magazine October 1973.

Found a treasure trove of copies of old "Meccano Magazine" on the net, and just like Motor/Autocar/Practical Motorist etc etc the full colour artwork on the magazine covers is gorgeous. I'll put up the link at the PE Library

For now here's one at random from July 1926
