Not so - it's made it as far as the Kew Bridge Steam Museum in the past :)

Getting a bit behind so better try to get up to date.

Two big international classic shows ina month, so disregarding the exhibts:

walking across the car park, noticed a '60's Fiat 500 parked behind an Espace - which really brought home how small the 500 was. Bit further on a German 309 parked behind a McLaren with British plates, which demonstrates how broad a church the classic car movement is. After the show, backtracking across the same car park, saw a '56 Cadillac (presumably a Series 62 saloon, but it had no badges & that era's not my strong suit - & that's all the For Sale card in the window said.)

Driving back on the Monday, through the last Dutch village before the Belgian border, really wasn't expecting the '66(?) Mustang coming the other way. Another surprise that Thursday evening, walking back from the station, a Triumph 2500S estate parked outside next door.

So to this weekend: just up the hill from the Expo site, an ivory Spridget - same one as I saw on the same stretch of la Périphérique last year? At various times, in different locations, in no particular order: black & silver Healey 3000, cream Daimler 2.5, black MGA, silver BMW 628 and in the Expo multi-storey, a dk green XJ380 estate!

The original colours represented the four seasons

Topaz Mist (Autumn), Emerald Green (Spring), Pale Aqua (Summer) and Lapis Grey (Winter).

The camera washed the colour out a bit but that one is the emerald green for spring, although looks a bit Pale Aqua in the photo.

Not cars, bikes, in Gloucester yesterday, must have been a couple of hundred maybe more motorcycles of all makes with their bearded owners on some special outing, many wearing the motif 'Chopper Club' on their waistcoats...……...and I'd left the camera in the car. :(

Just found this:

Compared to the P5 dash, I reckon the dash of the P6's is its weakest point aesthetically. Not the required wow of a decent quantity of walnut or classy dials, and in general just a touch chatty for a car of its stature.

Todays classic spot.....and chat which is always a bonus, was a Peugeot 205 diesel of 1991 vintage. It stood out to me like it had just been driven out the showroom. The owner had spent some time seeking one out, and had managed to secure his well looked after example. He had become disheartened with sagas of maintaining more modern cars and specifically selected something which he could fix himself.

Very nice colour...nothing flash sort of a light bluey grey.

Isn't just (though not really a coupé* at all), a friend had one, it was fabulous, he was upgrading from the P4 he had at college (via the Westy I gave him) which reminds me, saw one of those too, somewhat improbably towing a (at a guess, similar vintage) caravan.

Never liked the switches on 5/5B's but I always thought the, later, P6 instrument cluster was quite impressive, especially at night, but yes, overall it was a bit Citroenny - not at all English middle class.

*there, you've shamed me, I was just too idle last night to faff about with accents - even though I was conscious I should, in contra-distinction from the American Fords.
