That's probably the real reason that police spec Zephyrs had Zodiac engines.

But Goodwood green was tame compared with the pale blue MGA's Carlisle traffic division had.

There will be loads of classic cars out today....the drizzle has gone!

Here's one to kick it off.....TUF 303 spotted today

makes an appearance on IMCDb with the general conclusion that it is a Jaguar C-type Replica

Image

although the plate TUF 303 was once on a red Jaguar XK140

Saw a lovely immaculate E-Type Jag out on my New Forest bike ride yesterday... It was a older example in a dark maroon colour... It did look nice but oh gosh, did the shiny chrome exhausts ever pong

Saw a car today, which just perfectly captured the pleasures of s beautiful spring day, and classic car motoring.

It was a lovely Sunbeam Alpine, in gleaming white, with the sun catching the chrome.

Have to look up how much they are fetching these days, hope they haven’t got to the out of reach category.. Look good to me.

This type of thing

Looks like they are getting a bit pricey now.

Still the odd one under £10,000 like this at Anglia Car Auctions 4th November sale

That's lovely... Modern stylists could learn a thing or two from the Alpine...

Indeed the could but I wonder how it would fare in an NCAP test?

My maths teacher had one of these. We all thought it was fabulous.

Just shows that maths teachers are not anywhere near as boring as we always thought they were when we were at school!

Our deputy-head had a gorgeous very early baby-blue Rover P6 - That was my first automotive infatuation and I think that's where my P6 love started...

Our physics teacher had a maroon Austin A40 Farina...

What cars did your teachers have.

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Continuing the tangent, here's my contribution. It is funny which ones come to mind straight away.

Number 1 would be "The Clockwork Orange"...the Fiat 500 driven by our Flemish french teacher. Something like this

Number 2 would also be orange...An Opel Manta driven by the woodwork teacher who had aspirations in the local motorsports scene! Something like this

Can't be certain but one of the art teachers drove a huge old black thing that may well have been a traction avant.

Her successor was a much younger and very attractive version that flew around in a mini cooper and was the object of much lust from all the male students - until HER successor showed up. No car, straight out of teacher training college and an absolute knockout.

..and another classic car spot for me on a building site with a nice crease in the front wing.

absolutely had to be a classic...it had the word pininfarina on the side.

The design was originally offered to Fiat by Pininfarina in about 1990, only for Fiat to reject the design and design its own coupe.

So there you are 1999, V6 coupe , V-registration, light blue.

Is a bit of wheel, and the pininfarina badge enough to work it out.
