I marshalled all my mental energy and watched that Lada advert.. It's priceless
Pug_XUD_KeenAmateur wrote: 26 Nov 2017, 13:37 Obviously I'd love to say the 405 ad was the best.... but its so not. to paraphrase Kinky Boots, it needs to be RED!

Nope, the 405 advert is the very best ever, along with the fantastic soundtrack 'Take My Breath Away' that accompanies it :)

The 206 advert with the Hindustan Ambassador and the elephant comes a close second though...

My first 405 really did take my breath away - they're most excellent cars and one of the best (along with the 205 and 306) that PSA have ever made..

Funny what features Car manufacturers picked out fo advertising.

Heres one for the Citroen BX.....and the feature picked out

"The Citroen BX 19 GT still needs only 2 and a half hours Servicing every 12,000 miles"

"Loves Driving hates Garages"

Somehow, it's lost all it's intrinsic charm :(

It looks wrong from every angle...

Spotted one of these, not very remarkable, bit beefier than the 1970's Hillman namesake.

But can you really play smoke on the water with an auto box?

Judge for yourself

Advertising, especially car advertising can quite rapidly be dismissed as complete BS.
The old style adverts telling you of the features of the car have become an endangered and probably extinct species.

I noticed KIA's tagline which is at the heart of their new brand marketing. "KIA Movement that Inspires" as part of a tease of the soon to be revealed Kia EV6 car.

and a bit deeper delve, have to admit the animated billboards and the projection on the buildings are visually interesting.

Mont St Michel appeared on Coast this morning. Funny how 40 seconds from Audi with Geoffrey Palmer's voice over comes to mind :-D

and a few more from Geoffrey Palmer and Audi here. Gentle tongue in cheek humour.

Yes Coldplay are still churning out background tracks for BMW in the 2020's but its nothing new...

Here's Petula Clark from 1977 "putting a Chrysler Sunbeam in her life". If you have you tube on autoplay it may even go on to a proper flared trouser review from the "Drive-in" programme from Thames Television.

I remember the adverts for Renault Dauphine, can only find the US version online thought.
This is some of the wording for the UK.

It's got style and power,
70 miles an hour –
The Renault Dauphine.

You know its class
Each time you pass
A Renault Dauphine.

A penny-farthing a mile
And you travel in style –
The new Renault Dauphine!
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.
