Converting Citroen AX Speedometer from cable to electronic.

I have a 'M' reg. 1.0 Ltr and the speedometer cable has snapped. I access to a 1.0 Ltr. 'P' reg. AX for spares which has the later electronic cableless speedometer. Can anyone tell me if I can convert the 'M' reg. to use the cableless system please.
