Picture of the day?

Post by andmcit »

Two black beauties? lol

Surprising to note that there's just 11 years between them - 1983 > 1994.

I'm going through a lot at the moment (most bad) but it struck me that to cheer
myself up a bit, I'd actually stop and look at what I'm doing and share a picture as
it's not an everyday sight I share with you!

I'll try and remember to take a few more pictures of the Citroen exodus from the
barn I'm leaving to the new resting place!

Andrew, I'm sorry to hear things are not good for you at the moment and my best wishes that things soon improve...

If I had a picture (must take some soon) I could add a further black beauty to that photo...

I take it the GS is off to a new home, restoration and a new life then?

The cars going to the crusher do include 3 Cx's and a GSA Estate sadly.
The rest are Xm/Xant. :-(

Handyman might possibly save a CX or two as he has just lost one or two in a barn fire!!!

Nice picture Andrew - reminds me of your Black CX Safari towcar!

Think Handyman was after a GTi Turbo, and hopefully Andrew won't be weighing those ones in - some 22TRSs and GTi Autos I think.

I could've sworn I replied to this already but the post isn't showing up - damn phone! Yes, you're right Franklin,
most of the cars being weighed in are Xant / Xm and Cx 2.2RRS and 2.5 autos although there
is a GSA estate that's sadly too far gone bodily but it does have a nice 1300 engine and 4-speed box
plus a good rear subframe but I just can't spare the time breaking it - I may try if I manage to get other
things more pressing done first.

Richard specifically wants a rarest of the rare Cx (bar a s1), a GTi Turbo2.

Different day, different weather, better passenger?

Yes, don't let the (metric) alloys fool you, it IS a black T2 Franklin!!
Seems I've managed to 'lose' the AEi ECU and for the life of me cannot understand how
- does anyone have a lead where I can get hold of a T2 engine bay AEi!!??

I think that's there's a couple of them in the stores Andrew for T2s...

Jim, the AEi ECU sits on the inner wing and IIRC it is the Fuel Injection ECU. It's this that gets converted by the old company Maikonics for extra performance, as well as the Wastegate...

Funnily enough I was asked for a main ECU just yesterday for a GTi T2, however they live under the glovebox.

So what's the plans with that one then Andrew?!

Yes a keeper Paul - it's probably my best car. I'm not sure I want to take or show pictures of the poor cars being weighed in.
The AEi is the Electronique Injection or some such - basically the ECU with the map and code for the ignition and fuelling.
I really don't fancy disturbing or 'borrowing' one off another Cx as I've seen this make their starting and running more
problematic
