Insurance, again.

Post by OwenP »

It is that painful time of year again when I have submit to legalised robbery and buy car insurance.

I have a potential problem this year due to my new job (well 6 months old now), I work on the site of an oil refinery and was told by Aviva yesterday that they won't cover me for that reason.

Aviva asked me where I was working based on the job title I gave (Chemical Health and Safety Admin.) Should I be declaring it to other companies or should I let them ask? I'm not going to lie if they ask, but equally I don't want to find myself paying through the nose (any more than already that is.)

Also are there any companies who are either less picky or specialise in insurance for those working in hazardous locations?

It would be nice to get my insurance under £300 for a change. Current quotes range from £313 (renewal) to £750.

Cheers

Chemical Health and Safety Admin.
Call that job ‘administrator’ or ‘administration’.
They must think that you’re working in the carpets and air conditioning.
