What's currently wrong with your Frenchy?

Post by R9UKE »

I just thought this would be interesting, and perhaps make me feel slightly better about my never ending to do list. What is currently wrong with your car(s)?

Here's mine to kick things off!

The Mégane Privilège:
4 tyre pressure sensors need replaced
Slow puncture in one tyre
"Hands Free" locking button on the drivers door handle has stopped working
Fidgety rear end (yet to be diagnosed)

The Avantime:
CD Changer has given up
Another slow puncture
Drivers heated seat not working

The Clio Alizé:
Fuel light stays on ALL the time

The Laguna V6:
Odd creaking sound from the front suspension

The Mégane Dynamique:
I can only dread what faces me after three months lying around at the so called repair centre.

The Clio RT:
Well, it's had it's day to be honest
1st and second gear now almost completely absent, making it very difficult and noisy to drive anywhere, unless it's in reverse
Starter motor needs a good whack with a spanner to work
Front nearside shock absorber gone
Fuel gauge not working
Heater not working
Brake discs warped
It's also starting to use coolant

.... retirement time me thinks!
French is best.

LCA bushes shagged, regulator O-rings turned to wood, pressure switch seal weeps, front return line tee weeping.

Lack of a dash pad, is not a fault in my book!

I was going to say that's because you're retired and have loads of time to attend to all things automotive but that's not quite true now is it?

If I had more time I'd have made a nil return too...

This is what terrifies me about having a Citroen lying around. Robert was telling me how he moved one the other day and it starting hissing at him and secreting a green liquid

ermmm let me think.....

oh yeh a very very very slight creaking noise from the n/s/r door trim, that's it my car runs sweet.

I must confess that if anything was to go wrong like a warming light on the dash, tyre pressure sensor or such it would be sorted the next day if not the same day, hate faults with me car has to be near 100%.

I'll have to remember that next time I see you. In my mind at the moment White Xantia Estate = Mr and Mrs Citronut, not sure anything else would compute

I have given up chasing quirks. My Vel Satis goes stops heats and starts. Suspension brakes and oils all good.

What don't work on it I don't need. Sat Nav and cd..........I don't even use a radio :-D

There is enough working on it to satisfy me for a while. That'll do me. The run I do mainly with it is giving 33mpg on computer.

Well pleased.......it oozes character!
