Xantia load limit

Post by trooper30 »

Hi fellas, I trust you are all doing well :) :-D Nice simple question today as opposed to one of my rants :-D

I have to pick up some gravel for the garden this week, the bags are 25kg each and i recon I have 18 to collect, so how many do you recon i can stack in the back of the xantia before it snaps in half? Seats down only other weight is the driver.

Cheers fellas

Piece of cake. Just be sure to load it right behind the folded up rear seat. I've had an honest 900+kg in mine ; you certainly feel that!

As above it can take the weight but you wont go anywhere too fast and give yourself braking distance...

I've had 12 2*2 slabs in the back a past xantia and reckon'd on 30kg each maybe more and she coped, suspension just took a few seconds longer to get up as i had put her in low to help with loading.

Also use some old carpet to cover all plastic and other bits you dont want scracthed or dirty and use one to hang over the rear bumper and the boot lip plastic as it saves scratches on that as well, put the carpet(softest side) facing onto the bumper/plastic bits as it has a bit more give than the hard backing materials :)

Estate has 40mm rear cylinder bores and same feed pressures... That's 75% more lifting power.

With an XM estate load to suspension refusal, take a slab or so back out then let it rise.
You can then get at least another 25% extra weight in.
Be quick with the restart if you stall on the way home.
