Japanese yank tank anyone?

Post by Dommo »

1994 model year. Largely unchanged from when they were released in the late 60's. And apparently the prime minister of Japan used to own one (might still do?).

Who's willing to take it on?

Ah yes, the good old Century V8... I'd have one if it came along at the right price.

A few years back dad had one of these - amazing cars indeed and just about electric everything. Bought from a Japanese Import auction down at the Southampton Docks - they've relocated to (IIRC) Liverpool now I think but it's mostly just Mazda Bongo's and things like that nowadays. The one dad bought was the only one we saw there. :)

It's been a few years since I've been but there were some very tasty cars there ranging from the usual Skyline's and Scoobies to Nissan Figaros and Mitsuoka Viewt's - look them up...lovely cars! :-D

Bloody hell Franklin  Lovely cars? What are you smoking? The Nissan Figrao is just an awful Micra in a noddy car body and as for that Viewt. Words fail me. have you ever seen one in the metal? Gosh, they're breathtaking - in the worst possible way.

Now a Skyline is one Jap import I approve of most certainly :-D

It's like a Micra and a Jag met down a dark alleyway

Each to their own and all that Jim! :) Dad's had quite a number of them actually and as well as being very good sellers they're so unique and bizarre I find them hard not to like!

I fell very uneasy in the stomach department for some reason....

Is this what happens when a lovely old jag hits a micra doing 70 each head on??

The figaro i can see why some like them but, hmmm not for me im afraid..

Micras of that age are bad enough rot traps anyway, why did they make them *worse* by adding more body that could rust :D

the japaneese Love them! they seem to have an obsession with running them as low as possible and running the most redicuous camber on the rear to tget them down¬!!
one of the sites i use a lot for time wasting and some Great pictures did a feature on \king of sedan festival in japan, some mental cars!!
http://speedhunters.com/archive/tags/Ki ... fault.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

most or a lot are on airbags to get the ride hieght, but some are on 'static' drops!!

still, b e nice to private plate it and cruise around pretending to be a dignirty!!!

That viewet is just gross! It is like a Micra n Jag were related and spawned a deformed love child. A real brute!

They would have been better off calling it the Micruar. I don't mind the Century too much tbh, although that dictator remark is a fair point Jim!
