I guess you have shopped about on confused.com etc?

I was with Sky at one point (no, nothing to do with the TV company) who are a broker and found me a very good quote with the desired additions I wanted on my policy.

Im the same age as you, but passed my test in July 04 and have 5 years no claims, no accidents or convictions, car garaged, etc. My 56plate C5 2.0HDi 138 VTR costs me just under £700 a year. Im with Adrian Flux at the moment, another insurance broker.

I keep meaning to tell my insurance company that I have a HGV class 2 licence, though knowing my luck it will increase rather than decrease my premium

Didn't work for my daughter when she renewed a week before her 25th.
You may be lucky though.
What about a monthly insurance to carry you over the threshold?

Bloody hell  What are you insuring? A bloody Bugatti Veyron or something?

My 19 year old daughter with one years' NCB with me and her mum as named drivers on her policy was less then £500 from Admiral. Can you get your parents (assuming they have clean driving records) to be put on your policy as named drivers? It might just help.

That deal for Robyn was on her Pug 206 1.4 and included the fact it would be living away from home at her student digs. Another saver is that she's on a limited mileage.

Try an on-line quote with Admiral and if a good 'un note the reference and then call them and if their on the phone quote is higher hit them with the on-line quote and ask them to match it.

Generally, the more close family named drivers on the policy, who I believe must hold insurance in their own right should reduce the premium considerably as from the point of view of the insurance company the risk is spread wide across a number of people.

Well im blind in one eye. But i put in im dvla area no adviseriers not to drive. And then did one with out that. They where the same. Dont know why is so high. My inserance always seems to be high.
The bx would ve about 600. Pretty much the same as last year. If i still had the bx.
There must be somthing im s=doing wrong?

Is it becase i tell them about my eye sight. But the thing is touch wood. I drive 40 miles a day drove to kent london convernty yorkshire. And ive still had no bumps or scarps. Ya theres been 1 or 2 close shaves. And i must andmit when its dark raining and in a place im not sure. I tend to lose my marbles abit.
But im not a bloody boy racer. What messes about.

Like the other nite when i was comming back home. There was a truck in frount a truck behinde me. The truck behind me started over taking. There was a truck comming the other way. he was moving over towards me. So i had to put the breaks on to let him in.

Im going to phone up tesco then see what the cancilacion fee is. Or try they sky inserance brokers. See what they do or say

That's outrageous!

My kids have been insured through them and it was only £34 a month for three of them, two of them learners.
The girl over the road from me was paying around £40 a month for a 406 coupé and only passed her test a year ago.

I would suspect that telling insurers about the limited vision would increase the premium but not to such a degree as you are finding.
You can't not disclose it though as in the event of an accident - need not be your fault - they would absolve themselves of any responsibility.

Increasing your voluntary excess would certainly reduce the premium but would probably equate third party insurance in the event of a claim. At least you would be legal. Depends how much they reduce the premium though.

I'm paying about that for the Xantia, I'm 21, 2yrs NCB and 1 claim from back in my greener* days. Have you tried going between fully comp and 3rd party, excess would probably make a difference yes. Postcode has a lot to do with it I think too :(

Im currently paying about 500 for each car, thats 3 years no claims and im 22.
So yours does seem a little steep.
But as I was told every time I rang for a quote "You realise premiums have increased by around a billion percent in the last year...."
Or translated as we are now charging what the hell we want and no one can really stop us.
