I'm writting this on my TV using a HDMI Android dongle and a wirless keyboard/touchscreen.
Talk about funky.
I'm going to pop out in a bit and pick up a USB hub and then see if I can get the web cam working, means we'll be able to Skype the rest of the family from the living room.
I've got RDP installed so I can remote onto the other PCs in the house if needed.
Very responsive, going to try streaming a film from my PC in a bit.

I suppose I gave into Apple at the end of the day! A few friends have them so I've used them a little bit and liked them, and one of them has the iPad with Retina and the display is simply amazing which impressed me a lot. The laptop is getting older and I have been hankering for a tablet for a little while now - for my needs it'll be fine...

The Nexus 10 has a higher resolution screen than the iPad, and is easier to transfer files to and from.
Not to mention it's a heck of a lot cheaper.

I used my work's ipad to download a photo of my sister and her daughter for my parents the day after she died. Dad had his Galaxy Tab with him and wanted it as his wallpaper.
Imagine my frustration when there was no way I could just transfer the image to his device.
Had to re-download it onto my phone so I could bluetooth it to him.

I've been using a couple of iPads over the past couple of weeks and don't like them. Prefer a real computer any day (as long as it doesn't have Windaz on it)

Danielle's dad and I popped to Tesco's this morning and picked up one of these http://www.tesco.com/direct/archos-80-c ... id=3501015" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for £49!
Even at the usual price of £99 it's good value for money.

Hi, reading through this lot it makes me want the Christmases back from the 1940's an apple an orange(if you were lucky, some nuts and one toy. Oh, happy days. At times I can't be bothered to even try to get to grips with modern technology. Horray for my GSA a straight foreward car that is easy to get to grips with.

It definitely is, though not without one or two foibles.
There is something up with the default launcher that prevents the movement or removal of the Google maps shortcut. You can create a folder with it, then delete the folder, but after a reboot you get a black hole where the folder was unless you click on then off it.
I installed Launcher Pro which is free and that resolved it.
Some people have reported a dead pixel fixed by a factory reset while others have reported non-responsive screen near one edge making browsing the web with that at the top impossible.
I've not had these problems and if I did I would just go for an exchange when they were back in stock.
Looks like the new price will be £69 which is still a bargain.
