Sometimes, having someone who is not a family member but a driver over 25 with no claims or convictions as a second driver can bring down the premium significantly.

Need to start looking again at Christmas, but currently with Hastings.

Not had to make any claims or anything, but they are not very helpful once they have you. (The staff are fine, just the guidelines they have to work to)

Want to change the policy over to drive another car whilst mine is off the road for some repairs.
Certainly Sir, we offer a temp cover for an additional car for anything up to a month.
Great, here are the details on the other car.
Sorry Sir, we cannot offer Insurance on the second car, as its more than one Insurance group different from your current vehicle.
Xantia 1.9TD > Xantia 2.1TD Estate???
We can however change the policy over for you, for the month.
OK, how much will that cost?
x amount for the additonal cost + a £35 admin charge.
Do I have to pay the £35 admin charge to change the Insurance back.
Yes you do.
Thanks but no
.

Never again.

Hastings, what a bloody shower  That's terrible :x

They really need their a***s kicking for so very openly running a money-making scam...

They're about as helpful as a dead rat...

I've found Direct Line to be reasonable and they're not fussed on knowing your inside leg measurement. They're quite flexible with temp car cover and temp additional drivers, in fact most of it can be done online but if not I'm usually through to a clear English-speaking person fairly sharpish, usually within 5 - 10 mins if not immediately.
