"Absolutely"

Which smart-a*se invented the horrible word. Has no meaning, and therefore loved by politicians. If you mean "Yes", then say "Yes" - absolutely

quite amusing :D
He's probably being polite when Eddie Jordan interrupts his conversations to hog the limelight for himself .

I have never Heard D.C slagging others off either.

T.V being what it is , Eddie may be prompted to do so , creating a bit of " flavour " to the rhetorical .

But you made up the name of the occupant of the office! Nobody is called xyz - or is that really his/her name?

If so, how's it pronounced?

'Passion', when used in a non-romantic context, is one that annoys me, particularly in a business context.

'Decimate' is almost universally misused, as is 'quantum leap'.

Oh yes, that's another one! Whenever I hear it misused I always think "well, that's not so bad if they only lost a tenth".

In my 'new' job, it's a constant source of amusement to me to see the managers spending more time huddled in the meeting room than at their desks..

They only need the flimsiest of excuses too.. ' We need to discuss.. off to the meeting room...'

I am pleased to find so much consensus over many transient new phenomena, for example the latest 'one hit wonder' to emerge from a talent show. The majority of these are declared to be 'amazing' - I agree: they drive me mad, too!
