Scrapyards?

Post by Stekelly »

Looking for a bit of help. I'll be over your side of the Irish sea (well most of you, some are my side :) ) next week and want to drop in to a scrapyard and try pick up the missing trim from the outside of the passenger door ( the one tat runs along the middle ) on the missus 05 grand scenic. So my question is does anyone have any suggestions on where to try? I'll be getting the boat in to Holyhead in the early hours of monday and heading for Bolton. We're staying in Bolton for 3 nights but drivign to Blackpool during the day, so anywhere reasonably near to those spots.

Cheers.

There is one on Anglesey just off the A55:

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this one as he is a bit on the expensive side, but he did have a large selection of cars last time I was there (3-4 years ago.) Also he will normally have stripped all the bits off the car already, or if not you get escorted to the car and back again, no chance to have a poke around.

There is a much better one in Bangor just behind Tesco, again just off the A55. Can't find a website, and I'm not sure how to post a specific bit of a google map for you.
They doesn't have as vast a selection of cars, and are sometimes a bit hit and miss with opening times, but they are much more helpful, better priced and are perfectly willing for let you wonder round. I much prefered this one when I was in Bangor ended up borrowing some tools from them to get a couple of bits I needed off one of the cars when mine turned out not to be up to it.

Not sure if these are any help to you, depends on how early you are leaving Holyhead.

Edit: Spelling.

That usually happens with Imageshack Malcolm - unfortunately it's full of pop ups.
