I understand the basic requirements of the valve, and the ramifications of a gross mismatch, but...
How wrong does it have to be, before the risk of marginal situations becoming frequent, occurs? I ask because I am toying with putting a 605 TX valve (R134a) on a 405 (R12) evaporator.
I don't know about any differences in tube internals (or even if they are fitted with turbulators like a heater matrix) but effectively this is about 17% smaller an evaporator than a 605 has.
