I'm After a Good Garage, Good Prices, Midlands Area

Post by brmartyn »

As I'm moving to the Midlands in 2 weeks time (Wolverhampton/Telford Area) and the Xantia is due for a service can anybody recommend a good garage which offers reasonable prices? (MATES RATES   ) It's on 96k at the moment but I would say that looking at the service history it's now due its 100k major service but I don't want to pay over the odds to have it done. Thanks.

Hi Brady,

You won't be far from me then. (I'm in Telford). I would recomend the chap I use but he's cutting back on his work as he's now turned 70.
I'll have an ask about with friends and colleagues to see who they use as I will be needing to find another mechanic soon as I think it won't be long till mine fully retires.
Is your preference Telford or Wolverhampton?

Edit: I just remembered that I saw a card on the board at work advertising this place http://www.frenchdiagnosticservices.com/ Not used them but they could be worth a call.

Hi Pug,

Thanks for the reply. I'm moving to Albrighton near Cosford so i'm sure you're more than aware that it's roughly halfway between Telford & Wolverhampton. A garage either place is fine I don't mind. Thanks Brady.

Ah... Albrighton. I drive past the turning for it when I go through cosford on my way to Wolverhampton.
I'll have an ask about and let you know if anyone recommends anywhere.

If Shrewsbury's not too far away, Cartech is a long-established Citroen specialist, with a very good reputation. I don't usually use garages, apart from MOTs, but some years ago I was stuck for a hydraulic pipe, and the proprietor, Derek, opened up specially out of hours to make one up for me.
French Cars (Shrewsbury) is also supposed to be good, but the only dealing I've had with them was to buy a set of spheres - good price and friendly service though.
