Avantimes? They'll probably rustle up every remaining R16TX and stage a demolition derby with them all. :x

Wish Dave would take the show over so I don't have to pay towards it.
Maybe then the Beeb could commission a decent car review program that wasn't so boring or pointless and actually gave useful information for a change.

You don't pay for Top Gear, it's so popular across the world that the BBC sell it and AFAIK make a profit on the programme hence why they have such a large (pretty much unlimited) budget to carry out such outlandish pranks.

They could spread the income and reduce the TV licence fee then.
Or use some of the money to provide a decent car program.

na, all you would end up with is another "Britains got a celeb in the jungle, idol, on ice?" style program, i would rather watch paint dry, in the dark.

Although as the adverts are so frequent on Dave they tend to spoil the programmes enjoyment, and we do notice the adverts WBAC is a case in point.

Also because as has been mentioned, with regard to the worldwide sales of Top Gear, and the money that they get from that it finances a lot of the extra cost spent on the programmes.

If you buy a product, having not managed to avoid an advert, and then thinking I'll try that out, then you would be directly financing that also, and over a period of time I.E. a year, then one could spend more on that than the amount that is used from each licence fee to fund Top Gear

This is a tribute to the DS not from Top Gear, but nice to see, and great music.

While here James May extoles its virtues on Top Gear.

This features a DS, it is not Top Gear, and although a nice clip to watch, it does not shine through or come across as watchable, and entertaining as Top Gear is.

To be honest 2 of them were doner cars and are pretty rotten now (the roofs have rotted through and have holes in.
The third was being "done up" and was parked on wooden planks and covered in waterproof sheets. we haven't had the sheets of it in 15 to 20 years, so have no idea as to the condition now.
