Diecast model French cars.

Post by davewithington »

Anyone else into diecasts?

I'm a general enthusiast of the French car, Peugeot up to the sventies, Citroen, Simca, Facel-Vega, Mathis, panhard etc.etc.

Can't afford the real thing, so I'm into 1/18 scale diecasts

Just waiting now for my latest, a Peugeot 203 cabriolet by Solido.

This large scale isn't quite so easy to display and 1:43 is more prevalent.

I wish Solido would make an 1:18 scale CX to match the Sm and Ds of
recent release. There's been a whole raft of 1:18 in France where I believe
a fortnightly magazine collection had a model that accumulated into a set
of 2CV's or general favourite French models = some very nice 2CV's in 1:18.

I'm a diecast junkie :)

Mainly 1/18 & 1/12 but I will go for other scales if the subect isn't available in my preferred scales.

The detail on 1/18 just has me hooked. Am off to the Autosport show on Friday and will be on a bit of a trawl for some bargains from the model dealers.
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(

Not a collector but I've got some nice models, which I picked up in France last time I was over there, or maybe it was the time before ... got a Citroen C6 1/20, Peugeot 205 GTI 1/18, and an early Renault 5 1/18 in orange (don't know why, I don't like Renaults)

The NOREV C6 1:18 and 1:43 are very good - don't get the Bburago one!!

I've bought a real CX gti T2 for less than that resin one!! I did eventually
buy an unmade resin one off ebay but am damned if I can make it!

I just can't decide which colour to paint it...

Are there any nice 1:18 Xantias available? A Mauritius blue V6 would be great

I have a small row of 1:18 models on a table. A procession led by a 205GTi followed by a Traction and a DS19.

A model of a 405 and an R4 would be good to complete my collection of favourite cars I've owned. To date I've not owned a Traction or a DS but I can dream...

Here's a little picture of them, driving past my old Bush VHF64 wireless. It's older than me and arguably in better working order. The DS of the wireless world in the late 50s :D

Yes there is, Citroën dealers sold them when Xantia's were released, I have two gold ones but they were also available in burgandy and dark blue :D

Take an occaional look on Ebay France and they pop up from time to time, expect to pay £60+ for one though :(

The one I bought through ebay is a very smart gunmetal grey blue.
Only C6 I'll manage to afford to buy for a good while!

I have a mass of citroen models, me and my dad collect quite a few, and now have many hundreds. Mainly 1:43 scale but quite a few 1:18 too.

Ive been wanting a Norev 1:18 C6 for ages, though the only place i can find one is ebay, so ill have to get one from there. I have the 1:43 scale version.

Two of the newest ones we have just got are the Norev DS saloon, very very nice model, first one ive seen with the twin lights. And the Noerv cabrio with lift off roof, again its exceptional.

Norev are by far one of the better, if not th ebest makers of models, especially the 1:18 scales.

We have the Xm 1:18th in grey, which came from the motor show or the time. Very nice, though i would like that Xantia model.

Has anyone seen the new C5 1:18th on ebay? I think its about £90 but it does look perfect, even has carpeting!
