I've found the ability to increase the ground clearance to be an advantage this week.

The first time I used it I thought that the suspension was bust though, loads of creaking and groaning.
It was snow and ice compacted into the wheel arches being dragged loose :)
Yes ive had to increase the ride height a few times for getting over lots of snow.

Just took the dogs out in the car to a place not too far away for a walk. As soon as i pulled into the carpark i knew it wasnt a great idea. The C5 ground to a stop due to the snow, i managed to get it free and stopped to help a guy in a megane cc who looked stuck. He had his shovel out, floor mats out and under the rear wheels (front wheel drive, i dont think he knew!) with the fronts just spinning. So we went and gave him a hand and pushed him free. He said he had been there an hour trying to get out of the car park, his tyres had worn down past the wear markers on the front as he was stuck in holes in the ice/snow, he had worn to the tarmac but couldnt get any further.

Anyway, had a very nice walk with the dogs as no one else seemed to want to risk the snow covered carpark. Got the C5 out of the carpark ok.

It does seem to be melting up here, though more is on its way it would seem.

"Malcolm (citronut), you still snowed in down in your neck of the woods?

yep till friday we had about 2 or 3 inch's enough to bring all the side roads to a hault,

but then friday late evenning we had about 4 to 5 inch's fall in about an hour,

so we had a sprinkle which turned to ice then a bit more which turned to ice over that, then another sprinkle over the ice, then they got the heavys out and chucked the 4 to 5 innch's on top if all that,

and Hastings council are a bunch of skin flints as it looked like they only gritted the first day, and that was just the main roads,

We were told we'd have heavy snow today.
Apparently no one told the snow...

Well here in North Bucks it's been positively tropical at +1 (yes PLUS 1) and no wind.

Practically t-shirt weather...

If it gets much warmer I'll be getting the shorts out...

Driving into Sunderland, can be quite a surreal experience when you look across and see this parked in a field.....

I'm from a bit further north than you, north of the Tyne in rural Northumberland.
