Thats a new model i assume? Very odd, though they seem to like the ZX over there as a different version has been around for a while. They also did a saloon version somewhere. Have you seen the Chinese version of the Citroen C2? Its a Peugeot 206 with Citroen-ish styling at the front and rear, very odd.

I like how the 306/zx even has peugeot wheels on the front and citroen wheels on the back. Quite clever. Seems to have Xsara door mirrors too.

Sadly, I like the way they've put the new style grille on it, and revamped an old design, not pretty, and not french, gotta admire their efforts...

the far east like to "mash things up" design wise, they've even done a clone of windows xp on ubuntu 10.4 (whyyyyyy?)

still wouldn't buy a Chinese car, do they even have a track record in car manufacture?

Not particularly, but they make everything else, most likely even the computer you're looking at! Cars are pretty low-tech in comparison, and the major design work will still be the original. Chinese quality has come a long way, although the rip-off stuff is still obviously dodgy.

Sorry, but that sort of comment is way out of date! You'd be amazed what comes out of China nowadays. Unless you always check and deliberately avoid it.

The Geely "Freedom Vessel" recently took part in a crash test, and the results were not good, so bad in fact, that it was renamed the ‘Death Vessel‘ and was awarded 0 stars.
