Idly perusing the web I came upon this:
A 1966 Volvo 1800S owned by Irv Gordon of East Patchogue, New York, USA has the Guinness world record for highest mileage in the same vehicle he has been driving for more than 40 years. It had covered in excess of 2,219,751 miles (3,572,342 kilometres) by March 2004, and passed the 2,600,000 mile mark (4,184,294 kilometres) by October 2007.[3][4][5] As of November, 2009, the car is at 2.7 million miles and the owner is now targeting the three million mile mark.[6]
He has driven about 26,000 of those miles outside of the U.S., in Canada and Mexico, as well as in Europe. "In Sweden, we drove to Volvo's global headquarters to see where the P1800 was born", Gordon said.
On April 2, 2002, Gordon and his 1800S were guests on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, after reaching the two million milestone.
Always fancied a P 1800 ES:

They called it the "Fiskebilen" in Sweden (The Fish Car) as they thought it looked like a fish :?

The guy I worked for had a P1800, didn't reckon it as a sports car but as the perfect long distance cruiser. The gearstick amused him, like something out of a tractor.
Wasn't aware that Jensen made the first 600.

Yes, but imagine going to America on a fly drive or even hiring a car in the U.K. and they have a shortage of your booked model of car, and they trade you up to this, you wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth would you?

All the space, luxury for the other half, and kids, with a big boot at the price of a smaller car would make for a happy family!

I reckon they're a highly significant design in automotive styling history.

Have to agree, I love the looks of them. Better than the original P1800 "Saintmobile"

Perhaps the spelling was incorrect, should have been "Exiting" :)

Like Sony - It was supposed to be Sonny. They got it right by mistake :)

You wot?

Jim will be over to confiscate your Citroëns in the morning!

It's the poor man's bentley!

Ewww american cars!

My wife 'wants' a Chrysler Prowler, if that attitude continues she won't be driving my Citroën, EVER!
I like the 300c too & in particular the station wagon version, if anyone out there wants to swap a black one for my Xantia I'll gladly bite their hand off & the same goes for the Chevrolet SSR :D (I'm rather keen on all American cars to be honest)

If you fancy downsizing the quintet to a quartet, I have recommendations:

The French Car link is that they were in the Metrocentre ( a couple of miles from me) to promote the Puegeot 30 - 7 IIRC.
Missed them, unfortunately.

Actually i 'don't fancy downsizing, talented & pretty though they are 'Bond' will never come between me & Girls Aloud (& in particular Nicola & Sarah) & for that matter neither will an other artist/group.

To keep the French theme going Girls Can't Speak French

I would change the link like you did (myglaren) but i dunno how
Link fixed; click "quote" to see how it is done :)
