An inane ditty often pops into my head, based on Queen's Bicycle Race:
Xantia, Xantia, Xantia
I want to drive my Xantia, Xantia, Xantia
I want to drive my Xantia
I want to drive my car
I want to drive my Xantia
I want to drive it near and far

Now you've started something - look at the avatar and tremble.
There are so many, just about everything she sings, pus a few others (other artists that is). It has to be said that in many respects it is the singer, not the song although I do love the songs.

Not possible to select only one but prime contenders would be:
Avant Que L'ombre. Possibly the most elaborate set on the most elaborate concert ever. I have the stupidly expensive box set DVD/CDs of this performance and have to say that on a big plasma telly it knocks your socks off. I can't imagine how she will improve on this one*

Pas Les Temps De Vivre - The performance that hooked me, the second video I saw of her. At first I thought it was done for effect but found later there is a tragic story behind it.

On a lighter note, Innamoramento
The sets on this tour were done for her by her friend, H. R. Geiger.

While Dégénération doesn't rank as a `favourite' I include it for the mad video clip, which is NSFW! You may recognise some Milla Jovovitch similarities here :)

Nor is **** Them All!, magic video though.

And from long ago, when she was little more than a kid, Deshabillez-moi, actually a Juliette Greco song. The final ten seconds have an item of special interest :)

XXL is indescribable, she rules the world after doing that (she really did ride around on that thing for a whole day) Toutes les filles!

Finally one with Seal, ironically enough. Les Mots

note that her lyrics are often very convolute and even the French have difficulty understanding her

*but yesterday I bought my ticket to the next one, in Brussels next September, so may find out :)

Then there is Vanessa, sublime with La Minute De Silence. I'd love to buy this but it isn't commercially available.

Finally - and this is pretty tenuous - Arielle Dombasle PerfidiaYes I know it is Mexican but she is French, although brought up in Mexico.
This is so elegantly decadent I had to include it, just had to.

And finally finally, Voyage Voyage. Always liked this although Desireless is somewhat on the scary side.

Dalida was certainly an interesting character and a ground breaker in many respects. I like her version of Hava Nagila.
