Small B.O.L.

Post by ACTIVE8 »

Walking through a department store the other day there was a section that caught my eye, this was the gifts section, and in amongst all of the other things they had this,

which also comes with a small BOL, so for those buying it without the mechanical knowledge we have, you could imagine some head scratching trying to get this together, due to the nature of their BOL manuals.

Here's a link to see the picture above in a larger size.

Hi red_dwarfers. :D

Pleased to be of assistance.

The department store I saw it in was Debenhams, and here's a link to the same thing from them.
http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... _605361_-1

Although it's cheaper from them, than direct from Haynes after delivery charges, it then becomes only 49p cheaper.

The thing is, if you go into a branch of their department store, then it is available as I saw on the box at £20.00. 8)

So, that makes it even more affordable, and possibly more desirable, especially when combined with going to the shops for other purchases at this time of the year anyway.

I built that, or one very similar when I was a kid.

Guess it was the first engine I worked on. :D

Pistons were a bit tight at first and it wouldn't crank.

Thinking about it I might well get one of these, although I probably ask Santa for it, here's hoping the missus gets the hint.

Well it is not so "currently" environmentally friendly as it "sparks up & draws" its torque from a battery, but there is the potential there for solar power, to make it less harmful to the environment.

It was something like 30 years ago so I can't really remember.
