I've come to expect ugly from Citroen ever since they gave the Xantia a "facelift"
I blame Peugeot, they stopped making good looking cars when they killed off the 205 and 405.

The 406 coupé was a pretty car, even if it was supposed to be the Xantia coupé and Peugeot swiped it from under Citroens nose. Barstewards.

I fail to find any new car pretty. If you think the new C3 is ugly, have a look at a Volvo C90

I've seen sketches of the Xantia Coupe that became the 406 and it was a gorgeous car. Shame on Pug

Anyone else notice how the Xantia looks prettier and prettier against new cars? People now remark to me on frequent occasions how pretty the Xantia is :D

Actually I'd forgotten about that, but it does have one very unattractive point, it doesn't come in diesel.
Now if it'd had a 1.9TD, and activa suspension Image

The first Laguna 2's I find very good looking, and a much more responsive 92Bhp engine than the HDi
Course they then went and did a Citroen by giving it a "facelift" with the megane 2 front end, and again with the monstrocity that it is today.

Xantia V6 Activa coupe would really have been something to beat in both looks and performance.

Yes, that is the picture I have seen. Not sure of the looks but nowhere as Mickey Mouse as the new Alfa Mito thing, now that is an Ugly Ducklin!

I agree, that is fugly....

Mind, most cars these days are. As Jim said, the looks of the Xantia actually do look better everytime a new car comes out. I don't get why manufacters are making their cars uglier?

Looks are becoming 'diluted' as well. Take Jaguar as an example, what was once a prestige car maker with distinctive cars. The new XF looks like a Ford Mondeo.

A Xantia Coupe? First I've heard of this, any pictures of it before it was swiped by Peugeot?

EDIT: Love the 'swear' filter

I've found some info about the Xantia Coupe here:
http://www.kolumbus.fi/perhe_pitkanen/xw/styling.htm

I also like the looks of the Xantia and XM, very unique, I especially like the headlights and front grille on the mk1 Xantia, XM and the way the lines sweep up from the bonnet to the boot 8)

A friend of mine buys nothing but Fords and is always bigging them up, though when its been just us two talking he seems to develop a soft spot for my Xantia

good looking cars stopped when they realised pedestrians were spending so long gawping at them they forgot to get out of the way, i blame euro egg cup or whatever they're called, as for the xantia being a good looking car, well they do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I quite liked the Airdream and C-Matisse concept cars.
The Hypnos carries on in that tradition. Not too sure about the kaleidoscopic interior though.

I think the gtbycitroen is completely over the top.

Oh I dunno, if it came with a XUD9TE engine I think I'd get by in one :)
