Relay ID reference

Post by MikeT »

I've identified a Cartier relay 02009 as the fuel pump relay? Haynes lists the fuel pump relay as item 1200 though I can't see it anywhere on their diagrams. It has terminals numbered 1-5 with 1 & 2 being 12V +ve & -ve while 3, 4 and 5 are unlabelled. Can anyone enlighten me as to what I do have and what the pinouts are? Thank you. :)

Quick look at BoL 1996 … nothing either. :?
Hope the relay is of the garden variety, like the cooling fan changeover relay.

1 & 2 are the coil … pins 85 & 86.
3 is the input … pin 30.
4 is output when the relay is at rest … pin 87 a.
5 is output when the relay is energised … pin 87.

The pinouts in the Haynes schematic refers to the cable fitted connector, while the stamped numbers on the relay itself is the DIN standard designations for relays and voltage distribution in any car.
