Sad news.

Post by alan s »

Particularly for anyone from the Netherlands who possibly knew him, but this was posted on a forum this morning.
I just found this news on the GSA Yahoogroup:

Joaquín Gallardo Rodríguez wrote:

Daniel Zuidema sent this message to the members of the 2cv list this
morning:

"Guys, I just received a message on the Dutch 2cv list.

Yesterday Jeroen Cats died during a head-on collition with a lorry.

He will be dearly missed within the world wide Citroen Comunity.

Sorry, that's all the info I have.

Daniel"

Then, erwin sent this one:

"Coming home from work(?), with his Ami 8, he must have fallen asleep.

Right behind him, there was a police-car who could not understand why he changed lanes...

Monday at 11 o' clock, he will be cremated.

Such a crying shame!

Erwin."

I have sent my condolences also on that list, but noticed that it hasn't
been told here.

Again, my condolences to Jeroen's family.

Kind regards

Joaquin

This is a big shock... Jeroen was well known in A-Series and GS circles and many Citroenistes like myself have often browsed his fantastic Cats Citroen website http://www.cats-citroen.net/

A sad sad loss indeed Crying or Very sad

Mark.
It seems his website has been shut down which is a pity as it was always worth a look for something interesting about Cits particularly 2cvs.
I'm certain the condolences will be forthcoming from all around the World. A sad loss indeed.

As a result of the number of condolences that have appeared on the internet since our old mate Jeroen was tragically killed, the family have decided to let his memory live on in his website and it has been reinstalled on the net:

I don't think even his family realised what a popular figure he was worldwide in the Citroen community and this is their way of saying "thank you" for the expressions of sympathy shown to them.
