How big is their IsoView ?
Somewhere it says to have 10 MB to spare, and it looks like you can’t download it in instalments.
I’m on dial-up with a speed of about 2.7 kB/sec.

Think it was a couple of Megabytes which of course still is a lot on a 2.7kbs line

However when you are on the service pages you will have an option check box at right lower corner, where you can check lo or hi speed connection. This will turn off/on images accordingly. Images turned off can always be dsplayed at user will, but initially the pages will load much faster.

Thanks, AndersImage, it’s in, the program 2.2MB, total download over 4MB, took over 20 minutes, on a fast day … 3.5kB/sec.
Inauguration at playtime tomorrow because the computer will need rebooting for that, and I’ll lose the line in the process.

Edit Wednesday: Made it.
Set to ‘No’ for high-speed connection … picture 1400 pixels wide, 300 dpi resolution, 20 kB, when saved as ‘picture and fax viewer’.

If people carry on doing that, Citroen are likely to drop all of us from the system and not allow private individuals access

Making money from something that can be got for free very easily is (words are failing me) but it makes me very

I've reported it to Ebay, but it remains to be seen if they'll do anything. Apart from his misrepresentation (because it IS available in the UK), he's effectively charging for copyrighted material. But I suspect he'll claim he's charging for his support and advice.

Check it again in 24 hours!

I've reported it too, as an "Invisible or intangible item".
On the other hand, if people are stupid enough to bid on this . . . .

I think I may list some "Walk across the Humber Bridge" tickets

. . I'm not sure how much notice ebay take of these reports, but I think I did have a minor success recently.

I was bidding on a MAF sensor and the seller didn't seem too happy that it was only up to £15 an hour or so before it was due to end, despite being "worth well over £100" according to him. So, he started bidding on it himself with a user name almost identical to his main one. Thinking this was a bit too obvious he then registered yet another new account and put one final bid on before it ended.
Looking through the feedback & bidding history the second account had been used solely for bidding up items sold by the first one!
I reported this, and although he hasn't been banned, I notice none of the 3 accounts involved have been used at all since, so it looks like someone had a quiet word with him :)

found this as well
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SAXO-BERL ... dZViewItem

and he has this to say at bottom of listing for ebay

This information is in the public domain. There is no infringement of copywrite or other intellectual property rights whatsoever.
Proof of this can be provided should you require it

maybe i should ask the seller a question along the lines of is it the same info as citroenpr.net

that should show up on his listing then

or buy one and leave interesting feedback

The that one stated about the 20 years of experience in his auction.

Is that still current ?

If it is are they a parts advisor or parts manager ?

They won't keep their job much longer running scams like this !

I just went back to that first listing to see if they had started listing since PR net had previously not been available, but it appears that auction has been removed !

So, it would seem ebay have taken notice of the reports. 8)

Nope!

People who've purchased this off him seem happy enough too
judging from their feedback... :?

Must say, I can't use the full damned thing anyway being a Mac pilot, but
I do see the potential abuse of Citroen's service causing them to pull the
plug on the whole thing!

Could be really evil and create a new item for sale, similar to his ads, giving all the required information freely in the description :)

Ebay do sometimes do something about dodgy listings: I've reported several V5-without-the-car offers to them and the listings have been pulled, but it takes a day or so.
