Post by deian »

I know this may be in the wrong forum, but AndersDK is very quiet recently? Maybe this will wake him up?

For my sins I'm a bit of a "compulsive Citroën collector" and a real sucker for
a lost cause. I've 'collected' a real mixed bag ranging from a VERY early
platinum grey G plate 3.0SEi V6 MANUAL with the kinky prototype sunroof to
a S1.5 2.0 CT Turbo Si and '93 24V V6 in RAF grey and passing several
manual/auto, diesel/petrol, saloon/estate models along the way!! S2's don't
really 'do-it' for me, I like the earlier 'weirdness'...

But then there's my main Citroën passion; CX's & GS's with a sprinkling of 2CV
and the daily 'sensible' cars - Xantiae with a few Suzuki SC100 Whizzkid's as
the jokers in the pack!!

Would have loved to have gone DS & SM but I personally believe the CX does
what I want anyway and I know these so well now having driven them since I
was 17 with LHD 2.4 GTi manual, and have remained running them since.

Yep, I've got a fair few Citroëns, 'tis true... :?

welcome anders, i see you moved the thread too. I was half wondering what you would do, i know you hang around the citroen one more!

just for the record anders, i see linux much better than windows! opensuse 10.2 kicks the back end of windows in a big way.

andmcit... you ARE a citroen geek, and u are in s.wales? i'm in n.wales

For me, Applemac is the way to go!!

I'm totally biased as I make my liveliehood working on one and by now I'd
have packed it all in and done something else if I'd used a PC & Windoze...

And what's the open the start window to switch it off all about...

For genuine superb product design/easy user interface it has to be a Mac.
What does the whole world want/already own?

= an Apple iPod

Has anyone seen the iPhone yet, www.apple.com/ I WANT ONE!! :P :P

Never been called a 'Citroën Geek' before, although the phrase 'raving mad'
usually crops up in converstions with Mazda drivers...

This from the man that wants a 24v V6 Xm...

i'm not the most confident of mechanics either, but i like to fiddle and i like quick cars, not fast, but quick, and different, i guess this will be the fastest one yet for me, i thought the bww 325i i used have the really good, but when you can get a 3.0 citroen with 30bhp more and insurance is less it's gotta be done hasn't it, oh and the gas kit, and more toys, on the down side, no RWD on the XM, such a shame!

have you not seen Beryl on Linux, TRUE opengl 3d desktop, do a search on youtube you'll find some cool video's i got it all working here, including the 3d world part. all on 64 bit OS!

i DO like the iPhone, it looks the dogs bits!

Beryl is who? the cleaning lady!?

I like the idea that there are genuine creatives out there who DO think
outside the box etc etc cliché etc. The hope is there's some in the
design studios at Citroën too.

I SERIOUSLY WANT AN iPhone. My 5G iPod video looks so last year!!

Love the pinch to pan and zoom and the geometry adjust sensor for it's
screen orienation are nice - would be nice with a projected keyboard
for those that want to use it as a pocket computer...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eDI4-IH58s try that, lots of eyecandy yes, but it's like a mac on drugs, and to be quite honest, is a lot help for usability when you know how to use it, i'm so weird i want a lizard as a pet, a citroen xm as a car and i don't use windows, erm what else, oh and my gf is egyptian, so thats me! Some would say i'm eccentric? who else is a bit different? does the iphone come with toilet paper and a little arm?

Great Deian, thanks! I now feel "perfectly normal" seeing as you've
comfortably "out-weirded" me and possibly everyone else here...

You sure an Xm is weird ENOUGH to match!? How about a 3 wheeled
bubble car?

(Back on topic) Yes, they are. I drove a 1934 Morgan and burnt my elbow on the exhaust whilst leaning on the "door". :(
