Darwin?

No, that would be silly. The lowest I ever experienced there was 17C...

That was on the northern tablelands of NSW.

Here's the rest of some pics taken by a resident of Armidale.
Apparently they had half a metre of hail.

http://members.dodo.net.au/~dheap/hailstorm/index.html

This place had snow a month ago and is probably about an hour or so drive away from where I posted a pic of a thermometer in the Xantia showing 49 degrees last February.
When it comes to extremes, it don't get much more extreme than old Oz.
Sounds as though the guy who posted the pics over here, a Cit driver, may have lost a car in it due to hail damage. It was a Mittyshitty so not a real big loss if the insurance writes it off. Gives him a chance to replace it with something decent.

Here's another pic of it looking down a hill and across open land.
Never thought I'd be singing "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" in Australia.

We are going to Cooma for Xmas. There is weather bureau talk of snow in the Snowy Mountains on Xmas day - 100km from Cooma. If it does and we can get to it, there will be photos.

Even Wollongong is forecast to only have 19C on Xmas day!

Here's the local show pavilion that collapsed under the weight of the hail.

http://members.dodo.net.au/~dheap/hails ... p5921.html

and if someone told you this was taken in Norway or somewhere, you'd almost have to believe them.

http://members.dodo.net.au/~dheap/hails ... p5917.html
and here's todays weather forecast...what is considered in that region a "mild" day.
Armidale: Shower or two, chance thunderstorm. Max: 27

Any chance of a repeat performance for the five days of the next test match?

I thought you guys would be hoping for the opposite.
Your current team is not really all that bad, they've been more unlucky than anything else and as the commentators said the other day, this English Cricket team must almost be the first losing team in history to be given a standing ovation at the end of a match.
Some of the best test cricket has been played that we've seen for almost decades in this series, it's been top class stuff with the occasional freaky displays by various players creating the outcomes.
All test days I understand are sold out and that was prior to Warne and McGrath declaring their intentions to retire...looking forward to it and whilst now with Melbourne being Warnes home ground and Sydney McGraths, they will need luck and resolve to beat the determination the Aussies will be displaying as they will try to give both a win on their home turf.

(Anybody'd think I used to be part time sports editor at the local Radio Station wouldn't they?)
