What a load of old rubbish.I thought they were going to see how much abuse/damage they could do to it before it was a non runner.Instead, the Dirty Sanchez boys just bashed it with sledge hammers.
Still,at least VBH looked lovely as usual :D

What exactly happened!, didn't see it though I don't care much for 5th Gear
anyhow? Is this supposed to be "entertainment"!?

Well,it went along the lines of some one hearing down the pub that the Xantia was indestructable. So they got a N reg hatch,& let the boys smash it to pieces with sledge hammers. That was it.I was expecting them to run into the ground & see how long it would last.
Gave up watching it after that.
Roll on Top gear!!! :D

Saw it last night, totally pointless top gear imitation without the class, Ill bet the thing could have started and driven away though.

Incidentally - how many straight rustfree equivalent aged cars do you see
on the roads - I've seen some very ropey fords vauxhalls and surprisingly,
Renaults...

My K reg 1993 VSX 16v is as straight and as good an aorder as my 1998
s2 Exclusive estate - in fact - there's a one off weird rust blemish on the
centre of the rear 3/4 wing on the exclusive where someone in the past
has been playing silly beggars so these WILL rust, but they withstand the
rigours of the UK weather very well. Likely the problem areas will be the
bolts and brackets holding the bumpers and possibly the rear subframe
as per the Xm's.

Seemingly, apart from obvious major mechanical calamity and radical
rearrangement of the original design of bodywork, the thing that will take
many off the road are the mercenary folk taking the engines out for other
causes...

I do feel that some Xantia owners are not experincing (sp?) the full benefit of the Xantia suspension, like the guy that drove past me with the rear of the car on its bum.....

Yes I agree it was a waste of time, and proved nothing !

Although it's good to see the Ace Cafe as a filming location base, and VBH does look  nice.
