I have had a N/A BX diesel run away on the road, it was seriously overfilled with oil, the fifth gear and brakes stopped it though, boy was there a cloud behind me, I have seen a fiat TD do the same again on a dual carriageway with room, it did go very fast! but the guy must have been an experienced driver, he got it stopped.

I sometimes wonder why all diesel engine manufactures don't fit a butterfly valve in the air intake like this; http://www.mckenziecorp.com/air_intake_valve.htm as standard.Robin wrote:The answer if you were fast enough was to stuff your coat in the intake but most people just did the one minute mile across the yard.
I suppose the answer is it would cost more money!
