Well there I was cruising on the Autoroute some 30km from Calais at 85mph contemplating how the last 2+ weeks/3500miles of French motoring had been nice, easy and trouble free and thinking how much time I'd spent checking the spare wheel, greasing all the wheelnuts etc and how the red triangle I'd bought long ago had never been used etc etc....
Then loud bang from the rear as though large stone or something had been thrown up hitting the wheel arch. This followed less than a second later by a sound like a low flying jet getting closer and closer. Rapidly coming out of my semi daydream I put 2 and 2 together pulled onto the hard shoulder and checked the tyres. One very flat NSR...... Nice to know all the preparation paid off though and 30 mins later on our way. The Xantia was totally stable throughout. Pity the tyre was only a year old and hardly worn.
So be prepared!

PS Now I'm thinking about winning the lottery........ it would come in handy for paying for a new tyre!
