Police patrol cars were also sent but struggled to catch up with the BMW 318.

This is a part of this report.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/4796264.stm

Apparently he slowed the car with the brakes, although it wouldn't take too long before they would have become over heated.

The car has also been reported as having a large sound system filling the boot which should have slowed it down, due to the considerable extra weight.

Also as it's is only a 318 ! Image

So, with all that weight I.E. OTT sound system, and overweight driver powered by a lethargic 1.8 litre engine.

Struggle to catch up with it :) why ?

It's not as if its a Bugatti Veyron.

Probably the same reason Coppers in a V70 don't always catch hoodies in Fiestas- the Coppers are in control and fully aware of the risks and dangers, the twockers aren't.....they rely on luck, coke'n' speed (the chemical sorts) and other people just getting out of the way.

Yes, but although they are in control with being able to radio ahead to other cars, or by watching from above with a helicopter.

These twockers drive like T**TS, and other drivers can't always get out of the way, or do not see them approach from behind, due to very high speed at which they end up closing in on the innocent motorist in front of them.

There was an example of this with a car chase in Lancashire where the police were after a Porsche, it was being watched and filmed from a helicopter in addition to the police cars being after it.

This chase has been shown on Police Camera Action the chase went on for a long while, and ended when the Porsche smashed into the rear of a luton bodied Transit van.

Now as the Transit has more weight, and was loaded the Porsche ended up very badly damaged, and the chase ended.

I for one would not want to be infront of a complete nut like that, and if you were in a car with friends, or family in it, then the damage to it, and the injury to the occupants would be a lot more than what the Transit sustained.
