How about this for a different idea, it looks like fun ! [:D]
Tour Paris by Segway. [:D] Yes, you can hire them !

They have links with others, so you can even try a Segway out in the states, in Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, and Washington.
They are also linked with others where you can hire out bikes, but this looks more exciting. [:D]
It looks like fun, but for the reasons stated by the Department Of Transport in this link below, will probably not happen in the U.K. except on private land.
Although having said that reading through the news article it seems that the police a certain rider/owner has encountered are not sure as to if they should nick him, or ride his Segway.
