I think they both need the upside-down chevron "Citroen in distress" treatment.
Sorry, can't decide they look equally bad to me. And I don't mean bad in the good way.

maybe a much bigger chevon centred on the lower grill leaving the bonnet clear.

The BX and perhaps some others had the chevrons on the left of the bonnet.

how about getting rid of the number plate to the side alfa style maybe with a square plate

i don't like square plates...but it would look nice, though.[:)]

first ones ok you could go for the world rally car style lower grille with "citroen" in white letters sprayed on, how about motor bike wing mirrors
