I was thinking about what this car would have been transporting and my train of thought was that it is/was possibly importing something unofficially. If it was official, why would they need a fast car to do it, why not by air, why not with a police escort or an armoured car? The car was in Spain, what comes into the UK from Spain, through Gibraltar, from Morocco? Think on....

Perhaps they've left some in it! - Many years ago came accross a group that had been doing this using BMC 1800's - cut the sill's open and out the gear in there. Early on they panicked - and handed hire car back complete with gear! - hire co sold it on and 18 months later some nice middle aged couple have the police round - looking at the car - and then impounding it! - shock horror - your decent law abiding citizen has been driving round with loads of gear in his car! (No suspicion on him at all.)

The seller says that its been used for transporting high value goods (jewells).
Can we just leave it at that just on the off chance he comes on this forum.

I never had the chance to try the Griffter. [:(]
