True, I agree.
Although, has it really had one elderly driver from new ? [:D]
Also I thought elderly drivers prefered Volvo's. [:)]

I've looked up a few Xantias on the RAC site that I've seen for sale its amazing how many of them have been single owner cars for 5 or more years. Owners seem to be satisfied with them and don't go changing them every year, its probably a sign that they are good cars.
My Dad had a Passat some years ago and its V5 showed that the longest any of its owners had the car was 2 years, it seemed to have changed hands almost every year. My Dad didn't keep it for very long either, usually he'd buy a knackered car and run it into the ground, but this one he got rid of long before it was worn out.

If it was petrol, an elderly owner and a mileage that low would scream premature engine wear, lots of cold starts and short runs to the shops, never fully warmed up, leave well alone!!!!
Diesel's different but with a mileage that low were I buying I would still like to see shortened oil change intervals.
I don't understand the British car buyers obsession with low mileage, but, then again, it does make high milers a LOT cheaper for the savvy buyer!!!!

My Xantia's performance and fuel economy got gradually better over the first 3 or 4 tanks of fuel. It had done 55k miles. The performance and economy got even better after the cat came off....

just had to let my baby go, xantia 19td estate with a mere 320,000 miles on the clock. Les than 1litre of oil every 6000miles and still 600 miles to the tank but a bugger to start in the morning! Gave it away with a tear in my eye in the end!

Well, checking the registration of the Xantia on the RAC site, it states it has not had any previous owners.
Although it also states, that it also last had an owner change at four months old.
Slight contradiction in information there then.

Does that mean that it was pre-registered?

Yes I was thinking the same thing, I think the dealer or Citroen, might have done that to "massage" their sales figures.
By pre registering it, and then leaving it storage, they would appear at that time to have sold more cars than they actually technically really did.
It's a common motor trade trick, and I remember one of the national newspapers doing an article on this a few years ago.
They exposed the practice to the general public, to make them more aware about the tricks of the trade. To make it quite clear they included pictures taken from a helicopter, and there were about 2500-3000 cars on the site.

Both of My two Xantias were registered on the 31st December.
I think that says something about end of year sales figures.
