Diesel Prices

Post by beezer »

I am sure this has been done on here before but I noticed quite a variation in the price of diesel on a recent journey. I am interested to know what the difference is nationwide.
Cheapest seen recently:
Tesco and Safeway Inverurie 83.9p
Most expensive:
Service station A90 89.9p
On a recent trip to London it was over 90p at a service station on the M6

Most stations around North/West of London 85.9 with the occaisional one at 83.9. I noticed when at the 'Outlaws' over Xmas that it was consistantly cheaper (up to 83.9) around Bournemouth.

So far there doesn't seem to be any logic in it. Population or proximity to refinery has no bearing. Last time I was in Bo'ness fuel was much more expensive than Glasgow. You would think that as tankers didn't have to travel the cost would be less....
Keep them coming!

Its very weird though the difference from one area to another. I mean 1p/L = 4p/gal = 44p on an average tank, over a year could mean a saving of £23 - not to be sniffed at.

Tesco Dundee 83.9.
Before Tesco built their big store at Irvine with filling station, fuel was relatively expensive. Then all the garages had to drop their prices to compete with Tesco. Not long after one place closed down.
